The Auburn Police Department welcomes the opportunity to work with today’s youth, particularly underprivileged children who may not have the same opportunities as others their age. Shop with a Cop is one of the ways we reach out to these children and their families.
Through Shop with a Cop, children in need (who reside in Auburn) are able to purchase gifts for Christmas and needed items for themselves (such as coats, hats, gloves, boots, or other winter items).
The Auburn Police Department strives to make the event an engaging and exciting one. During the shopping trip at the Auburn Walmart children will be paired with officers from the Auburn Police Department to shop for Christmas. The parent or guardian of the child will be able to shop so their child(ren) will have a gift to open Christmas morning. If funds allow, some parents are also able to shop for some food items.

The deadline for applications is November 30, 2025.
