October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month ๐Ÿ’œ 

At last night’s City Council meeting, Mayor Clark officially signed a proclamation declaring October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Auburn in partnership with the Dekalb County Domestic Violence Task Force, with representatives from Hearten House, and Fortify Life.  

Silent Voices Project: Last Friday, October 3rd, the Task Force presented the Silent Voices Project—a powerful visual display of 12 life-sized silhouettes: 

๐ŸŸฃ 7 Purple Silhouettes – Share important facts about domestic violence 

๐Ÿ”ด 5 Red Silhouettes – Honor lives lost to domestic violence in DeKalb County 

These silhouettes are now placed throughout the county to raise awareness and honor the memory of those we’ve lost. ๐Ÿ’” 

Let’s keep the conversation going. 

Domestic violence IS an issue in DeKalb County, and awareness is key to prevention.
