AUBURN, Ind. – DeKalb County mayors continued their monthly job shadowing get-togethers last week traveling to Garrett for a morning filled with discussion.

Auburn Mayor Mike Ley joined Mayor Mike Hartman of Butler and Garrett Mayor Todd Fiandt at Garrett’s city hall to continue the collaborative effort. While in Garrett the three toured Adventure Homes to learn more about its business.

Adventure Homes, owned by three local businesses men, is located between Auburn and Garrett on S.R. 8 in the former Fleetwood Enterprises facility. The group purchased the business in August of 2009 after Fleetwood Enterprises ended manufacturing in Garrett. The facility didn’t miss a day as Adventure Homes began production the Monday after Fleetwood closed its doors.

The three mayors discussed how each of their communities could support businesses like Adventure Homes across northeast Indiana.

During the month of April, the three will meet in Butler.
