Spring Clean-up begins April 10

AUBURN, Ind. – The City of Auburn will once again be offering Spring Clean-up days again this year throughout the city beginning Monday, April 10.

Republic Services will only be making one pass down each street, as the city will once again be divided into four quadrants. Items must be placed at the curb for pick-up on the Sunday prior to each of the clean-up dates.

The city administration requests that items aren’t set out more than five days prior to scheduled date.

Republic Services will pick up items in the southwest portion of the city – south of 7th Street and west of Cedar Street – on Monday, April 10.

The northwest district – north of 7th Street and west of Cedar Street – will be picked up Monday, April 17.

The northeast district – north of 7th Street and east of Cedar Street – will be picked up Monday, May 8 and the southeast district – south of 7th Street and east of Cedar Street – will be picked up Monday, May 15.

Accepted items include:

  • Household items only – bagged, no cardboard boxes with loose trash will be accepted
  • All waste should be bagged and in your trash bin (weight limit 40 pounds)
  • Mattresses and box springs must be bagged or fully wrapped
  • Yard waste: brush limbs in 4-foot sections that are bundled or packaged
  • Washers, dryers, refrigerators (freon-free), grills, carpet, etc.
  • Paint that is solidified with the lid removed.

Unaccepted items include:

  • Televisions, computers, electronic games, telephones and other electronic equipment
  • Construction materials, concrete, and rocks
  • Hazardous, chemical, medical or infectious waste, liquid paint, pesticides, car parts (batteries, bumpers, tires, fenders, etc.)
  • Animal and human remains
