BPD, Plan Commission Hosting Open House on Auburn 2040

 In Building, Planning and Development

The Building, Planning and Development (BPD) Department and Auburn Plan Commission are holding an Auburn 2040 open house on Nov. 4, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 206 E Ninth Street. The public is invited to stop by and learn more about Auburn 2040: The Road Ahead, the city’s new comprehensive plan—and the first update in more than 30 years. BPD staff will be on hand to listen to feedback and answer questions.

Auburn 2040 casts a vision for Auburn over the next two decades, so at the open house, BPD will feature displays on proposed goals and policies for future growth, development and redevelopment, including:

  • Land use
  • Arts & parks
  • Downtown
  • Housing
  • Transportation
  • Local government & services
  • Economic development

Additionally, the open house will feature a Future Land Use Map and Thoroughfare Plan Maps, as well as information on:

  • How policies may be implemented through housing
  • Innovative ways to think about parking
  • Utilizing Cedar Creek
  • Redevelopment of West Seventh Street
  • Redevelopment of Wayne Street
  • Development of the County Road 11A interchange

A draft copy of the comprehensive plan is available online at www.Auburn2040.com.
