The Auburn Parks & Recreation Department is accepting applications for seasonal employees. Positions include parks maintenance, pool lifeguards and front desk and concessions at the pool.
The Auburn Fire Department is selling one of its fire trucks. This 1972 Mack Baker Aerialscope ladder truck was purchased by the department in 1984 and refurbished the same year. It is a very clean, reliable ladder truck, and the ladder has been tested every year through 2013.
Today, Next Century Cities and 38 member communities, including Auburn, urged the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to respect community choice for Internet infrastructure. The FCC is currently considering whether to allow laws to stand that restrict the ability of communities to pursue high-speed Internet.
The City of Auburn’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the 11th annual Father/Daughter Valentine Dance on February 6, 2015.
The dance will be held at the National Military History Center from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and feature music, dancing, games, photos and refreshments. Activities are geared for children ages 3–10 (and their grown-up escorts!). You can register by visiting the Parks and Recreation Office at 1500 S. Cedar St.
Thanks to generous donations from several local companies, the Auburn Fire Department erected a grain bin on their training facility to simulate actual grain bin rescue scenarios.
