APD Offering RAD Self Defense Course

The Auburn Police Department will be offering a self-defense course for women in January. The four-session course teaches the RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) System, which includes awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance. Women will learn realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. Certified RAD instructors will teach the course.


Auburn Parks & Rec Hosts 25th Annual Christmas Walk

The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department invites you to the 25th Annual Christmas Walk. The walk will be held on two weekends, December 4-6 and December 11–13, from 6-8 p.m. each evening. The Christmas Walk takes place in Eckhart Park, 1500 S. Cedar St and is truly a “Winter Wonderland” for all to enjoy.


APD Hosting Shop with a Cop Again This Holiday

The Auburn Police Department (APD) is once again holding its Shop with a Cop program this holiday season. This program helps children in need purchase gifts for Christmas, including one needed item for themselves (such as coat, hat, clothing), as well as small gifts for other family members.


The Auburn Parks & Recreation Board will be holding a public input meeting on November 19, 2015, to gather public feedback and to discuss the current and future issues, needs and priorities for the City’s Parks and Recreation system for the Parks Department’s Five Year Master Plan.


Auburn Parks & Rec Announces the 20th Annual Halloween Walk

The 2015 Halloween Walk starts on October 23 and runs thru Halloween night, October 31. Hours for the walk are 7-9 p.m. each night. The walk is held in Eckhart Park, 1500 S. Cedar Street in Auburn.

This is a family-friendly event that provides fun and entertainment for all ages. Admission to the Halloween Walk is $2 per person, with children age 3 and under free.
