Today, Next Century Cities and 38 member communities, including Auburn, urged the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to respect community choice for Internet infrastructure. The FCC is currently considering whether to allow laws to stand that restrict the ability of communities to pursue high-speed Internet.


11th Annual Father/Daughter Valentine Dance to be Held

The City of Auburn’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the 11th annual Father/Daughter Valentine Dance on February 6, 2015.

The dance will be held at the National Military History Center from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and  feature music, dancing, games, photos and refreshments. Activities are geared for children ages 3–10 (and their grown-up escorts!). You can register by visiting the Parks and Recreation Office at 1500 S. Cedar St.


Thanks to generous donations from several local companies, the Auburn Fire Department erected a grain bin on their training facility to simulate actual grain bin rescue scenarios.


Annual Christmas Walk Kicks Off This Weekend

The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department invites you to the 24th Annual Christmas Walk. The walk will be held two weekends, December 5-7 and 12–14 from 6-8 p.m. each evening. The Christmas Walk takes place in Eckhart Park, 1500 S. Cedar St, and is truly a “Winter Wonderland” for all to enjoy.
