Police Investigating Auto Dealership Tire Theft

Posted by aprile on October 17, 2012

The Auburn Police Department is investigating the theft of 12 tires and rims from the Ben Davis Ford Car lot located at 400 South Grandstaff Drive. The theft occurred sometime between 7 p.m. on October 16 and 7 a.m. the following day.

Those responsible for this theft removed all four tires from three vehicles that were on display in the parking lot on the north side near the front of the dealership building. All three vehicles were Ford Edge four doors--two were 2013 models and the other a 2012 model. The thieves used bricks to support the vehicles after removing the tires. Lug nuts were left at the scene. Suspects would have needed some type of vehicle or vehicles to transport the stolen items.

The Auburn Police Department is encouraging anyone with information about this crime to call them at 260-920-3200. A Crime Stoppers reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for this crime.
