APD Offering Self Defense Course for Women

The Auburn Police Department will be offering a self-defense course for women in February and March.

The four-session course teaches the RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) System, which includes awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance. Women will learn realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. Certified RAD instructors will teach the course.

Dates: February 22 and March 1, 8 and 15

Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

 Requirements:

  • Must be a female age 13 or older
  • One-time registration fee of $5 (Classes is open to new participants first. If space allows, returning participants may sign up. Class offered free to previous students.)
  • Must attend all four classes to complete course and receive certification

Location: To be determined, dependent on class size
