APD Hosting Shop with a Cop Again This Holiday

Posted by thowens on November 3, 2015

The Auburn Police Department (APD) is once again holding its Shop with a Cop program this holiday season. This program helps children in need purchase gifts for Christmas, including one needed item for themselves (such as coat, hat, clothing), as well as small gifts for other family members.

The APD strives to make the day an engaging and exciting one, starting off by picking children up in one of our police vehicles and taking them (along with a parent or guardian) to Wal-Mart to select items. We generally end the excursion with a meal at a local restaurant.

The deadline for applications is November 30, 2015. You can complete our online application or download and print off the Shop with a Cop application form and return it to the address on the form. Letters of approval will be mailed to the address listed on this application.

Visit the APD section of this website to learn more about Shop with a Cop, including how it works and program criteria, rules and guidelines.

Monetary Donations Appreciated
The program has grown in interest and need in recent years. To ensure the APD can meet the needs of all that apply, the department welcomes financial assistance from the community. Citizens and businesses interested in contributing can send checks (made payable to the Auburn Police Department) to:
