Auburn Police Department Chief Martin McCoy reminds motorists of the importance of pulling off to the side of the road, if possible, in the event of a car accident.


Gov. Eric J. Holcomb has submitted census tracts in DeKalb County as part of Indiana’s 156 Opportunity Zone nominations to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. The federal Opportunity Zone program was created in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and provides federal capital gains tax incentives to attract private sector investment to low-income urban and rural communities.


Spring Clean-up Scheduled to Begin in April

The City of Auburn has scheduled its annual Spring Clean-up to begin in April. This year, pick-up will occur throughout the week, instead of on Saturdays as in past years. Residents are asked to have items out for pick-up on the Sunday prior to their clean-up week.

  • April 9-13, 2018: South of 7th Street and West of Cedar Creek
  • April 16-20, 2018: North of 7th Street and West of Cedar Creek
  • April 23-27, 2018: North of 7th Street and East of Cedar Creek
  • April 30 - May 4, 2018: South of 7th Street and East of Cedar Creek

APD Offers Handgun Safety Courses

The Auburn Police Department (APD) is once again offering firearms training courses for the public. The courses are taught by certified law enforcement and/or NRA instructors. Depending upon demand more classes may be offered during the year.


The City of Auburn, Auburn Main Street and Crosby Excavating will be holding an informational meeting about upcoming construction on the Sixth Street corridor and the North Main Street corridor.
