City of Auburn / Departments / Street Department

Street Department

The Auburn Street Department maintains all city streets through quick removal of snow, ice, leaves and brush—ensuring streets are safe and passable at all times. And, as necessary, the Street Department administers projects to fix any street hazards or improve the flow of traffic throughout our community.

Note: The Street Department does not pick up grass clippings. Please do not dispose of grass clippings by putting them in the street or along the curb. The Street Department will pick up brush only at the first of each month. Residents are encouraged to make use of the compost site located near CR 36A to dispose of all yard waste.

Fall Leaf Pick-up Schedule

The Auburn Street Dept. will begin picking up leaves on Monday, October 16, 2017. Pick-up will begin in areas west of Cedar Creek, alternating weekly from west to east. Pick-up will continue for approximately six weeks covering the whole city. This is a tentative schedule and may change due to heavy leaf fall and weather. Please have leaves piled along the curb as not to disturb water flow from fall rains. If you have any questions, please contact the Auburn Street Dept. at 260-925-6455 or street(at)ci.auburn.in.us.

Taxpayers have the ability to view budget notices in one central online location at BudgetNotices.IN.Gov. A new email subscription option is provided to taxpayers to stay informed of submissions by their local units. Taxpayers will be able to view all local government units in DeKalb county, search by their address, or use an interactive map tool. This website has been designed to promote the importance of budget notices and the role that they play in the daily lives of Indiana taxpayers. Taxpayers that do not have Internet access or have difficulties with the website may contact the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance at (888) 739-9826 and request a paper copy of the notices for their local government units.
