I.M.A.G.E. Drug Task Force is a pro-active, multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program that serves a four county area in Northeast Indiana (DeKalb, Noble, Steuben and LaGrange).   I.M.A.G.E. was established in 1993 for the sole purpose of investigation and enforcement of drug related crimes and currently has four police officers working on a full time basis.  Each of the following agencies dedicates and contributes one officer, his or her wages, benefits, a vehicle, equipment and limited operating expenses to the I.M.A.G.E. program: Auburn Police, Kendallville Police, Steuben County Sheriff, and Noble County Sheriff. Several other agencies contribute limited funds or part time assistance as they are able.

Over the last 13 years I.M.A.G.E. has established a reputation within the law enforcement community, as well as within the public sector, as being a successful organization and a vital and valued asset.  All members of the Task Force are well trained and educated to work in the undercover drug environment. They have proven themselves year after year with the successful arrest, prosecution, and incarceration of drug offenders.  Without I.M.A.G.E. the majority of drug manufacturing and distribution within our communities would go unchecked as local law enforcement agencies have limited time, expertise, equipment, manpower nor financial means to dedicate resources to these types of investigations.

“The I.M.A.G.E. Drug Task Force is funded in part through a Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance and administered in Indiana by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.  JAG funding allows states and local governments to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime based on their own local needs and conditions.”
