Winter 2010
TV Headend Under Construction
In December 2009, the City selected a Site Improvement Contractor to
prepare the newly acquired land for building, tower, and satellite construction
and installation. The City has also selected the Video Systems Integrator - this
contractor will be be providing the building, communications tower for
local/regional off-air channels, installing the satellites used to acquire video
content, and providing all other electronics and systems required for TV service
provisioning. Testing of the new TV service will begin summer 2010, and be
generally available late 2010.
TV and Service Bundle Surveys / Focus Groups
As we prepare the final channel line ups and service bundles, we are asking the
entire community for your direct feedback in the form of two brief surveys.
If you are an AES or Auburn Electric customer, you are eligible to take these
surveys. Visit the AES home page and click on the survey links to get
started!
After the completion of the surveys, we will be conducing
in-person focus groups - these live sessions will provide those most interested
in helping set the direction of the new TV service opportunities to get a first
glimpse of the final channel lineup, service bundles, technology and pricing,
and provide final feedback on all these items prior to our summer launch.
The focus groups will be held in February, and are by invitation.
