The value of our police department cannot be overstated. On a daily basis, they work to protect the City of Auburn and ensure it remains a community where we can feel safe, secure and enjoy a certain quality of life. Now, I invite Auburn residents and businesses to join me in saying thanks to the Auburn Police Department by supporting the 13th annual Auburn Police Department Golf Outing. But, this event isn’t just a thank you to the police department—it’s a way to join them in their mission.
Held on July 13 at Bridgewater Golf Course, the fundraiser supports several community outreach programs put on by the Auburn Police Department. Those programs include:
- Shop with a Cop
- Thanksgiving for the Needy
- Christmas Tour for the Elderly
- Santa at the Shelter
- K9 Drug Program (Food & Vet Bills)
- Rape Aggression Defense Classes
- Pathfinder Program for At-Risk Youth
- Scholarship Fund (Future Officers)
- Bike Patrol
- Crime Scene Techs (Equipment)
- Community Policing Events
- National Night Out
- Healthy Halloween
These programs were developed and launched by the Auburn Police Department because the men and women on the force believe serving the community is more than a job—it’s a calling. These programs provide something extra, yet meet real community needs, particularly of those less fortunate.
There are three ways to be involved in the golf outing:
1. Tee up and golf with us
2. Sign up to be a sponsor
3. Make a financial donation
